Masaniello: What It Is, How It Works and Free Calculator
Masaniello is one of the most searched staking (money-management) systems in Italy — and also one of the most misunderstood. In this guide we look at what it is, how the Masaniello method really works, what its real limits are, and you’ll find a free calculator to simulate stakes and your target. We do it the way we always do: explaining things honestly, without selling the illusion of easy winnings.
Masaniello: what it is
Masaniello is not a tip and it is not a bet: it is a money-management method, that is, a way of distributing your stakes across a series of events. The basic idea: you set a starting bank, choose a certain number of events and how many of them you want to win, and the method works out how much to stake on each one to reach a bankroll target — provided you hit the minimum number of wins required.
It’s important to be clear from the outset: Masaniello does not increase your chances of picking correctly. It doesn’t create value out of nothing. All it does is organise your stake amounts. The result depends, as always, on the quality of your selections — not on the maths of the system.
How the Masaniello method works
You need four ingredients:
- The bank: the sum you decide to dedicate to the whole cycle (and that you are prepared to lose).
- The number of events: how many matches make up the cycle (for example 3, 5, 8…).
- The events to win: how many, as a minimum, must come in for you to hit the target (for example 2 out of 3). The more “misses” you allow yourself, the more cautious the method is, but the lower the useful combined odds.
- The odds: the average odds (or those of the individual events) determine how much the bank grows with each win.
From here the method calculates the stake, event by event. The key point — the one almost nobody explains — is that the stake is not fixed: it changes according to how the cycle is going. After a loss the amount to play goes up (to stay on track for the target); after a win it comes down. This is where both the strength and the danger of Masaniello come from: the stakes grow precisely when things are going badly.
Masaniello calculator
Set your bank, the number of events, how many to win and the average odds, then press Calculate. It shows you your bankroll target and the suggested stake event by event: mark Won or Lost and the calculator updates the next stake. It is a simulation tool for educational purposes.
A practical example
Bank £100, 3 events at average odds of 1.80, target: win at least 2. The method asks you for a first stake; if you win, the second one shrinks; if you lose, it rises, because there is less margin left to hit the target. If you reach 2 wins before the end, the target is met and you can stop. If instead you take two losses, the cycle is compromised: the starting bank is gone. This is exactly the scenario the calculator shows you step by step — including the possibility of failing.
The limits of Masaniello (the part that matters)
Here I have to be clear, because it’s the part the system sellers don’t tell you.
- It doesn’t make you win. Masaniello manages the amounts, not the outcome. If the selections aren’t good, good money management won’t save you: you lose in a more orderly way, but you still lose.
- Stakes grow after losses. This is the structural risk: precisely when you’re losing, the method asks you to stake more. A bad cycle can burn through the whole bank quickly.
- The risk is concentrated. Tying your bank to the outcome of N events means that simply missing the required results can wipe it out. There is no “free bet” and no variant makes the cycle risk-free — every cycle carries real risk.
- The bookmaker’s margin stays. No staking system cancels the house edge: that can only be countered with value selections, not with progression of the amounts.
Put plainly: Masaniello is a discipline tool — useful if you already know how to select well and want to organise your bank around a target. It is not a money machine, and every cycle carries a real risk of loss.
Masaniello and bankroll management
Masaniello is just one of the ways to manage your bank. There are others, with different logic: the Fibonacci progression, doubling up (martingale) — far more dangerous — and, above all, simple prudent bankroll management (staking a fixed, constant fraction of your bank). The common thread is a single one: none of these methods creates value. They serve to organise risk, not to eliminate it.
If you want to apply a method to selections built on data, you can start from the analysis in our VIP Tips Software, which examines the matches every day and shows the historical statistics for each market. The staking method remains your own informed choice.
Frequently asked questions
What does Masaniello mean?
It is a money-management method for betting: it distributes your stakes across several events to reach a profit target, provided you win a minimum number of them. It is not a tip and it is not a guarantee of winning.
How is Masaniello calculated?
Starting from your bank, the number of events, how many to win and the odds, it works out event by event the stake needed to keep the target on track. The stake changes according to the results: it grows after losses, it falls after wins. The calculator above does this for you.
Is Masaniello safe?
No. No staking system is safe. Masaniello orders the amounts but does not reduce the risk of losing your bank if the required events don’t come in; indeed, by increasing stakes after losses, it can accelerate losses.
Masaniello or Fibonacci — which is better?
They are different approaches: Masaniello works on a target and a fixed number of events; Fibonacci is a more gradual progression. Neither of them “beats” the house: the difference is always made by your selections and discipline, not by the formula.
How many events do you need for Masaniello?
There is no right number: longer cycles spread the risk over more matches but require more wins; short cycles are quicker but more fragile. It’s best to start with few events and small banks, to understand the method without over-exposing yourself.
